If you spot rust around the windsheild or drip molding fix it ASAP or you'll be like me wishing you had.
It's very common when you have a windshield replaced that the idiots doing the work scrape the old gasket/rubber glue out and leave bare metal. and in time it will rust through and leak inside even if you don't see any rust around the trim.
Toyota no longer has the parts you need to replace it so you have to cut and weld new medal back in place.
Another bad place for that is at the top corners of the windshield where the roof and post are put together, always put some calk or something there if you have the winshield out for any reason, also under the back of the cab in front of the back wheels toyota frames are bad to rust out there because there is so many places open in the frame for water and stuff to get in and when it runs to that "swag" theirs no place for it to escape so I usually drill a couple of holes in the bottom of the frame so it can escape!
I've known for 3 years I needed to fix the rust around the windshield on my 89 4runner so I got started today.
I called glass masters and had them order a new windshield and new clips then drove down to their shop and had them remove the trim and windshield then tape the glass back in place so I could drive home.
I have my work cut out for me I waited way to long to do this. Below are a few pics.
